What the Zepbound label says.
Zepbound (tirzepatide, Eli Lilly) is FDA-approved for chronic weight management and obstructive sleep apnea with obesity. These are the rules printed in its US prescribing information as of September 2026. Your prescriber decides how they apply to you.

- Once a week, any time of day, with or without meals
- Dose steps
- Starts at 2.5 mg; increases of 2.5 mg after at least 4 weeks; 5, 10 or 15 mg to maintain; 15 mg maximum
- Missed dose
- Take it within 4 days (96 hours); after that, skip it and keep your usual day
- Changing your shot day
- Allowed if doses stay at least 3 days (72 hours) apart
- Where to inject
- Abdomen, thigh or back of the upper arm (someone else should inject the arm); rotate each week
- Devices
- Single-dose pen or vial; KwikPen or multi-dose vial with 4 weekly doses
- Out of the fridge
- Single-dose pen or vial: up to 21 days in total at up to 86°F. KwikPen: discard 30 days after first use or after 4 doses
- Birth control pills
- Switch to a non-oral method or add a barrier method for 4 weeks after starting and after each dose increase

Does GLP Calendar tell me when to increase my Zepbound dose?
No. It shows what the label says — increases of 2.5 mg after at least 4 weeks — and records the dose your prescriber chooses. It never suggests or calculates a dose.
Can I track Zepbound vials and the KwikPen?
Yes. You pick your device when you add Zepbound: single-dose pen, KwikPen or vial, and GLP Calendar shows the storage and use limits that the label sets for that device.
What if I'm late with my Zepbound shot?
The US label says to take a missed dose within 4 days (96 hours) of the missed day; after that, skip it and take the next dose on your usual day. GLP Calendar shows that window on your Today screen.
