What the Foundayo label says.
Foundayo (orforglipron, Eli Lilly) is FDA-approved for chronic weight management in adults. These are the rules printed in its US prescribing information as of September 2026. Your prescriber decides how they apply to you.
- How to take it
- Once a day, with or without food; swallow whole; no more than one tablet a day
- Dose steps
- 0.8 mg, then 2.5 mg and 5.5 mg, each after at least 30 days; may go up to 9, 14.5 or 17.2 mg after at least 30 days on each dose
- Missed dose
- Take it as soon as possible; don't double up the next dose
- Several missed doses
- 7 or more in a row: the label says to restart dose escalation
- Birth control pills
- Switch to a non-oral method or add a barrier method for 30 days after starting and after each dose increase
- Storage
- Room temperature, 68–77°F
- Half-life
- 29 to 49 hours

Foundayo questions, answered.
Is Foundayo a peptide like Wegovy or Zepbound?
No. Orforglipron is a small-molecule GLP-1 receptor agonist, which is why it can be taken as a daily pill with or without food.
Do I need to wait 30 minutes after taking Foundayo?
No. Unlike the Wegovy pill, the Foundayo label says it can be taken with or without food, so GLP Calendar doesn't run a fasting timer for it.
What if I miss several Foundayo doses?
The label says to take a missed dose as soon as possible without doubling up. After 7 or more missed doses in a row, it says to restart dose escalation, so talk to your prescriber.
