What the Wegovy label says.
Wegovy (semaglutide, Novo Nordisk) is FDA-approved for chronic weight management, cardiovascular risk reduction and MASH. These are the rules printed in its US prescribing information as of September 2026. Your prescriber decides how they apply to you.

- Once a week, any time of day, with or without meals
- Dose steps
- 0.25 mg (weeks 1–4), 0.5 mg (5–8), 1 mg (9–12), 1.7 mg (13–16), then 2.4 mg or 1.7 mg; up to 7.2 mg (Wegovy HD) for some adults
- Missed dose
- Take it if your next dose is more than 2 days away; otherwise skip it
- Several missed doses
- 2 or more in a row: the label says to restart dose escalation at a lower dose
- Changing your shot day
- Allowed if your last dose was 2 or more days before
- Where to inject
- Abdomen, thigh or upper arm; rotate each week
- Out of the fridge
- Single-dose pen: up to 28 days at 46–86°F before the cap comes off. FlexTouch: 56 days after first use
- Half-life
- About 1 week; semaglutide stays in the body for about 5 to 7 weeks after the last dose

Yes. You can log any dose on the Wegovy label, including the 7.2 mg dose, exactly as your prescriber ordered it.
What does the Wegovy label say about missed doses?
Take a missed dose if your next one is more than 2 days away; otherwise skip it. If you miss 2 or more doses in a row, the June 2026 label says to restart dose escalation at a lower dose, so check with your prescriber.
